Equimetre 2.0 was built in order to meet a set of specifications that brings together 3 objectives.
- Reduce the size of the sensor & its weight
This implies a transformation of the box.
- Today the size has been optimized.
- We have perfected the position of the components to reduce the size of our electronic board and then designed the case around that.
- Reducing the thickness - including the recess to pass the tab to avoid extra thickness.
- Rounded off the parts, for a horse oriented equipment.
- Changed the button, easier to use & intuitive.
- Added pictograms next to the light guides for ease of use.
- Waterproof sensor - splash-proof.
User benefit - Less bulky & no longer obstructs the rider's foot. Easier to use / operate in a stable. New use case with waterproof sensor.
The sensor has been designed with new materials in order to go through more reliable production means. A new mold is used.
- Modifications made:
- Ribbing of some parts - For less cracks.
- New RFID reader - To make the chip reader more efficient, and simplify the user experience.
User benefit - Fast horse detection, better robustness for everyday use.
3. Replace parts easily
The new parts have been designed to be replaced remotely to avoid sending the sensors back for repairs.
- This saves the user the trouble of going back and forth.
- The screws allow for easy changes.
- The tongue can be changed by itself without tools.
Electronic board & software - BLE - New component used, better stability, better range.
- Better GPS accuracy.
- Improved functionality.
